The storytellers of the Ranger Jim Series

Chip Ridley - Author

Chip Ridley spent nine years as a naval aviator before beginning his career in the investment industry. Nearly forty years after his first flight as a pilot, he still loves the views and perspectives of our world from high above the ground. He and his wife, Heidi, live in Danville, CA and have raised four boys.  They frequently get great horned owls as visitors to the tall trees in their backyard, which always remind him of Oliver!

Rich Sigberman - Illustrator

Rich Sigberman has been drawing pictures since he was 3, “storyboarding” movies he’d watch.  At 8, he was given his cousins’ comic books, the covers of which primarily made an everlasting impression. He absorbed the illustration art of 19th and 20th Century artists in the antique book room of the library at SUNY Albany, did some 6 months of intensive figure drawing at the Art Students League in New York City, and four years as the staff artist at the Times Tribune newspaper in Palo Alto. He has created illustrations for a wide variety of businesses in San Francisco, and has loved creating the art for these books.

From Ranger Jim and the Stubborn Owl

All the animals promised to be on the lookout for other owls and to let them know.

They were all very surprised when they learned that Oliver’s parents’ nest was empty. That made Oliver very sad, but Ranger Jim did everything he could to keep him entertained and happy.
